Shancelot’s Miss Elle draws inside post for Churchill Downs debut
Top-three First-crop sire Shancelot will have his second starter May 2 at Churchill Downs when Miss Elle breaks from post 1 in a $120,000 maiden special weight race for 2-year-old fillies. Shancelot got his stud career off to a flying start when his first runner Perfect Shances won on debut April 11 at Keeneland.
Miss Elle will face a full field of 12 contesting the 4 ½-furlongs on the main track. The bay filly is trained by Robert Medina for Snake River Stable LLC and was bred in Kentucky by Ashley and Josh Hillyard.
Miss Elle is fifth foal to race out of Beccawhit. She has produced a trio of multiple winners, including the stakes-placed Backyard Money. This is also the family of graded stakes winners Squadron A and Belgravia.
